Voluntary and Protection Family Support Services

We understand that every family could use extra support. The ultimate goal of the programs are to keep families together, help families solve problems on their own, and help families recognize and focus on the things that are working in their relationships

Protection Family Support Services

We work with families to address issues that led to involvement with the Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD). Each referral from MCFD has individualized goals. CBFRS worker help their clients attain these goals through mentoring, role modeling, helping build communication, trust, and problem solving.

Voluntary Family Support Services

The service is for families who are experiencing personal, family or social issues and are open to accepting services to assist them. Some of these issues might include: relationships with other family members, challenges of living in a step-family or blended family, dealing with the impact of separation and divorce, parent/teen conflict, dealing with grief and loss, anger management, and/or difficulties in school. The program will accept parents who self-refer or referred by their families. We will also accept referrals from other community agencies such as counsellors, mental health clinicians, teachers, The East Kootenay Addictions Society, etc. however your family will need to contact the team leader before starting services.
