We are following the BC Centre for Disease Control’s direction and asking all people who have travelled outside of Canada within the last 2 weeks (14 days), including members of your household, not attend the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre’s or the Columbia Basin Family Resource Society’s office and programs.
We also recommend you self-quarantine if you have travelled outside of Canada within the last 2 weeks (14 days).
If you or someone in your household have cold and flu like symptoms we are also asking you do not attend the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre’s or the Columbia Basin Family Resource Society’s office and programs until you are symptom free.
We are suspending all groups until further notice.
We know that this is a stressful time for everyone, and it is hard to keep up with all of the news about this virus. We are still available by phone 250-423-4687 and you can also call the crisis line: 1-888-353-2273 for 24/7 emotional support.

Welcome to the Columbia Basin Family Resource Society! (CBFRS)
We are a CARF Accredited Organization that provides a wide range of services to children, youth, and families in the Elk Valley.
We acknowledge our respect for, and share our deepest gratitude to the Ktunaxa peoples on whose traditional territory we are honoured to live and work.
In 2018 we supported 500 families using our strength based, client centered approach. Our goal is to help families recognize and focus on the things that are working in their relationships and help families solve problems on their own. We believe in each person’s ability, responsibility and right to be heard, to be safe, and to have information to make decisions about their own life.
